CHOOSING THE RIGHT CORPORATE GIFT

Here’s something we’ve learnt in fifteen years of gifting: a great corporate gift does two jobs at once. It makes the person receiving it feel genuinely valued, and it keeps your brand in their hands, on their desk or in their bag long after the moment has passed. A poor one, sadly, lives out its days in a drawer. With over 7,000 products to choose from, let’s narrow it down together, the same way our Branding Consultants do every day.

Start with three questions

  1. Who is it for? A gift for your top clients is a different decision from a giveaway for 2,000 expo visitors. Match the perceived value of the gift to the value of the relationship.
  2. What’s the occasion? Year-end thank-yous, golf days, trade shows, staff onboarding and product launches each have natural fits (more below).
  3. What’s your budget per person? Decide this early, it instantly focuses the search, and our team can suggest the best options at any price point.

Choosing by occasion

Golf days. Practical items that get used on the course, caps, golf shirts, towels, umbrellas, drinkware and ball sets. Because they’re used in public, they carry your brand well beyond the day itself.

Year-end and festive gifts. This is where hampers, premium gift sets and executive items shine, a thank-you should feel like a gift, not a giveaway. One critical tip: order by September or October. Stock and branding capacity fill up fast in the festive rush, and the best products sell out first. See Lead Times & Deadlines.

Trade shows and events. Volume matters, so lean on high-impact, cost-effective items: pens, lanyards, keyrings, notebooks, tote bags and water bottles. The goal is maximum branded touchpoints per rand. Pair them with branded displays, gazebos, banners and tablecloths, for a stand that works as hard as you do.

New staff and onboarding. A welcome pack, branded notebook, pen, mug, cap or hoodie, makes a first day feel like joining a team. It’s also one of the most photographed and shared gift moments, which is free marketing.

Promotional giveaways. Everyday-use items win: the more often it’s used, the more often your brand is seen. Drinkware and USB drives outperform novelty items that get used once.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CORPORATE GIFT 1

Choosing by budget

As a rule of thumb: at entry level, choose useful over impressive (a good pen beats a cheap gadget). In the mid-range, drinkware, bags and apparel offer the best perceived value. At the top end, executive sets, awards and custom-developed products make the statement.

Choosing by industry

Different industries have different winners, it’s why we maintain dedicated ranges for franchises, pharmaceutical, safari & lodge, events & incentives, industrial & mining, staff recognition, real estate, automotive and education. A mining client needs durable, safety-conscious gear; a lodge wants gifts that feel like the destination; a franchise needs identical branding across every location. Browse the Industries section or ask your consultant for industry-specific recommendations.

Thinking sustainable?

Our eco-friendly range, recycled materials, natural fibres and environmentally responsible options, is ideal for companies with sustainability commitments or CSR goals. An eco gift also says something about your brand’s values before a word is spoken.

Can't find it? We'll make it

If nothing off-the-shelf fits, our custom and bespoke service develops products from scratch, your product, not just your logo on someone else’s.
